In this very first episode, learn briefly about the neurotransmitter serotonin, how it affects your mood, and how your thoughts can increase its functioning in your brain. I also walk you through a meditation designed to improve serotonin functioning for a more pleasant mood and disposition.
This information is largely inspired by Rick Hanson’s excellent audiobook Stress-Proof Your Mind (great for laypeople and practitioners) and Paul Gilbert’s The Compassionate Mind (this one is more practitioner-level because it’s soooooo long).
